November Artist of the Month- Koren Shadmi
Artist of the month
Koren Shadmi is an illustraitor and cartoonist who lives and works in Brooklyn. He has become very well known for his unique, thought provoking, comic style artwork. His questioning imagery isn't the only thing that captures your attention, his knowledge and use of watercolor and detailed line, will leave you in awe.
Shadmi is originally from Israel where he not only lived and worked as an illustraitor, but was also able to publish his first graphic novel at the young age of 17. While he was in Israel he went on to serve three years for the Israeli Defense Force. It was only upon completion of his service that he decided to move to New York and graduate with a Bachelor's Degree at the School of Visual Arts. He has gone on to receive numerous awards and recognition for his artistic talents, and many of his graphic novels have been published worldwide. Including France, Italy, Spain, Israel, and for the first time in U.S. with his 2009 release of In The Flesh.
His works have been featured in many publications including The New York Times, The Wallstreet Journal, Mother Jones, BusinessWeek, The Village Voice, and The Washington Post just to name a few.
