Nathan Durfee is a very talented Artist living in Charleston, South Carolina. He is known for his very unique style of painting that depicts enchanting surrealistic characters. Durfee attempts to paint honestly he tries to keep his brushstrokes from hiding in the canvas, and give them an identity at the same time. This is why his paintings have that pixelated, patchwork style about them. This technique is what I think enhances that awesome whimisical feeling you get when you look at his pieces. His world of characters and stories are able to emerge from his subconcious to the canvas with the help of his imagination to pull from both the abstract and realistic. The ability Durfee has to find a cooperation between all of these elements definitely results in some amazing art work!
His talent has become very well known, he is an award winning artist and most of all his solo gallery showings have been met with critical acclaim. Most recently he is going to be featured in a solo show June 1st in Charleston, South Carolina.
